The reason a dog jumps up is to show dominance and to greet people.  He is so glad to see you; he can’t contain his joy. You are glad to see him too!  But this behavior will be unwelcomed by your guests. He has to be trained no

t to jump up. With consistent training, it can be very easy to correct. Do not make a big deal about your arrival home.

Take about 15 minutes to get yourself organized then greet the dog on his level. Cuddle and pet the dog on his level so that he does not have to jump up. 

You can also use the "sit" command. The dog should respond to the "sit" command before he can even think about jumping up!

With effort and consistency, this should work.
