How It Works
For Puppies Aged 8 Weeks–5 Months Old
Welcome to the Walk & Train: Puppy Program at Becky's Pet Care (BPC), where we specialize in nurturing your puppy's early stages with comprehensive training and care. This program is tailored to puppies between 8 weeks and 5 months old, focusing on critical developmental milestones and behaviors.
Puppy Program Overview
1. Initial Inquiry (15–30 minutes):
Assessment: We begin with an in-depth phone consultation to understand your puppy's needs and your goals for training, covering aspects such as age, breed, vaccination status, background, and home environment.
Preparation: We'll guide you on selecting treats for training based on your puppy's preferences and dietary needs.
Expectations: Discussing the importance of treats in training, emphasizing your involvement and the provision of treats by the trainer.
2. In-Home Consultation (60–90 minutes):
Building Rapport: Our trainer will visit your home to establish a bond with your puppy.
Detailed Assessment: We will discover your puppy's personality, current behaviors, and how they respond to your family and environment.
Training Overview: Discuss positive reinforcement techniques, training duration, and the benefits of consistently reinforcing their behaviors.
Interactive Session: Engage in a short training session with you and your puppy, demonstrating the training process.
3. Individual Training and Milestones (12 Sessions):
Training Focuses: Name Recognition, Sit, Down, Recall, Socialization, and many more! Discussions on how to approach common training scenarios, such as potty training and crate training.
Training Updates: Each session (12 sessions total) targets specific behaviors, gradually increasing complexity and introducing new environments and distractions. Owners will receive a brief update after each training session and two detailed reports showing their puppy’s progress after several completed sessions.
