September is National Pet Insurance Month

Pet health insurance policies can vary greatly. The policies can be customized for particular pets or families. Just like with human health insurance, Some pre-existing conditions may be exempted and policy costs can vary with age and health of your pet.

Some companies that offer policies include the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and the AKC Pet Healthcare Plan that offers 60 days of free coverage to newly registered dogs.

Check with your veterinarian. If you don't have pet health insurance, you may want to check it out and see if it makes sense for your family and your pets!
