Pawing My Lap?

It's Training and Behavior Tuesday!

Q: Why does my cat paw at my lap while sitting on me?

A: The behavior that you are describing is typically called "kneading", "making bread" or "marching".

This is a throwback behavior to when you cat was a kitten and had to knead mama cat for milk flow. Adult cats tend to knead when they are very happy.
